WHY YOUR HEALTH MATTERS

YOUR HEALTH IMPACTS EVERY ASPECT OF YOUR LIFE

“The intention with which you give and serve determines the outcome” – Oprah Winfrey

What does Oprah mean by this? She means that WHY you do something is as important as WHAT you do. As Agents, Admins, business partners, vendors, and affiliates, we all serve the clients and each other. The intention with which each person decides to ACT impacts the quality of the outcomes. Bring this conscious awareness into your health journey. Every aspect of the health of your business and your own personal health matters. Health is influenced by your intention, your thoughts, your words, and your deeds.

THE 8 DIMENSIONS OF HEALTH

  1. Physical
  2. Financial
  3. Environmental
  4. Emotional/Mental
  5. Intellectual
  6. Spiritual
  7. Occupational
  8. Social

As a kid growing up in an alcoholic family, I learned to cope with fear and anxiety. Some of the ways I coped were by watching TV and eating snacks. It was my escape; my way to have peace by being somewhere else, if only in my mind. This way of coping turned into a habit. TV shows were my habit instead of reading. Now I’m not a kid anymore, but the TV habit has remained. While there’s nothing wrong with watching TV or being a visual learner, readers are known to be more successful. Reading is a habit I am cultivating. If I let myself, I can feel embarrassed that I’m not more accomplished at being a reader. Self-care, however, has taught me to just keep moving forward on my journey without comparisons.

You too might have a habit that has helped you cope, yet is no longer serving you. Maybe it is a habit that is taking you years to break. Be gentle with yourself….how do you want to have more “health” in your life?

TINY CHANGES MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE

In our Admin Mastermind Group, we just finished reading the book, Atomic Habits by James Clear.  This book has been life-changing for me and I also bought the Clear Habit Journal to help me put the knowledge into practice!

James Clear says, “In daily life, habits are at the center of change. Your habits determine the difference between who you are and who you could be.” Change is always possible!  What habit would you like to develop? What habit would you like to stop doing?

Tips to change your habits:

  1. Make a list of the habits you would like to practice
  2. Track your new habit behavior – use a chart, like the “habit tracker”, or a simple counting system
  3. Journal – write one line per day. Try a prompt like, “what is one thing I want to remember about today?”

MAKE CONSCIOUS DECISIONS ABOUT YOUR HEALTH

Incremental steps forward, pointed in the right direction, determine the trajectory I need to reach my desired destination. I am committed to being of service in my life to my family, my friends, and clients, and my community. I care deeply.  Making habit changes to improve my health is happening on two levels: my conscious decisions and the work I am doing with my unconscious mind (who is running the show more than I like to think)!  We just had Nicole Sarenpa as a speaker on our Admin Mastermind; she is a Master in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and taught us about “Non-Violent Communication”, both of which I have been fascinated with for years. Now is the time to dive into both!

As each of us sheds the habits that no longer serve us, the more possibilities we have to not only change ourselves but to change the way the world works. As we choose more love, more peace, more inclusion, more equality, more justice, we create a world that has existed in song lyrics for decades, as in “All You Need is Love” by the Beatles (1967)

May the waves of change help take you where you want to go!
